From mini-soccer to 11-a-side, log the match once and the report is done

Match Report GO started life as Precision Pass, a grassroots football app, and football is still at its heart. It is built for the coach running an under-9s side on a Saturday morning as much as for an adult Sunday league team: log the match once, and get the report, the score, the stats and the graphics.

Every format you are likely to play

Football supports 5-a-side, 6-a-side, 7-a-side, 9-a-side and 11-a-side, and walking football is configurable. Each format has its own pitch drawing and starting shapes for line-ups, so a 7-a-side team is set out as a 7-a-side team.

In England, The FA's youth pathway generally runs from 5v5 mini-soccer at U7–U8, to 7v7 at U9–U10, 9v9 at U11–U12 and 11v11 from U13. Check your league's rules, which can differ. Our guide to youth football formats by age group goes into more detail.

Scoring built for the touchline

Football is played in two halves. Half lengths can be set to suit the age group, and the app never ends a half by itself; the scorer taps when the referee blows.

The Standard view gives you six big buttons:

• Goal, with optional scorer, assist and how it went in
• Shot, on target, off target or blocked
• Save
• Card, yellow or red
• Sub
• Moment, for anything worth a line in the report

A report that reads like football

The match report uses football's language: goals, assists, saves, half-time and full-time. The score, scorers and minutes are checked against the match before anyone sees it, and if a draft gets a fact wrong you get a plain template report instead.

Fair minutes on rolling subs

Most junior football uses rolling substitutions, which makes fair minutes possible and hard to keep track of. Fair playing time shows time on the pitch as you go and tells you when a player needs to go on soon. Pro's rotation planner builds a substitution plan for both halves.

Junior football handled carefully

For under-18 teams, junior mode is on automatically: first names only in public, and no child named for a card, an own goal, a missed penalty, an offside or an injury.

Questions coaches ask

Does it work for adult football too?

Yes. Junior mode only switches on for under-18 age groups. Adult teams get full names and the same scoring, reports and graphics.

Can I set shorter halves for younger age groups?

Yes. Half lengths can be set for the age group, and changed for an individual match.

Does it sync with my league's results system?

No. Match Report GO does not sync with league systems. It is for your team's own scoring, reports and records, not league management.

What about extra time and penalties?

Football includes extra time and a penalty shoot-out for cup matches that need them.
